Loving Kindness, Compassion and Generosity
Yesterday,I had the privilege to hear Kusala Bhikshu a Buddhist monk from Los Angeles speak at a workshop called Buddhism in America. It was very interesting.
Rev. Kusala was an everyday looking guy. He rides a motorcycle and plays the blues harmonica. Yet under that lies a man full of wisdom and simple answers to todays challenges.
He said don't just love but do it with kindness. Where money is concerned exercise generosity. When dealing with others be compassionate. The one area that really could change the world is if we all worked together in harmony to reduce or end suffering. Just think for a moment how we could change every thing, if everyone ask themselves the question: what could I do to end suffering and then acted on it. He said change yourself and it will have an impact in changing the world. Live from the heart not the "mind" and quite the mind with Tranquility Meditation. Although I am not Buddhist his talk really had an impact on me. I will put his teachings into practice.
I am all for ending suffering and living an inspired and empowered life.
